As a sophomore: Appeared in all 19 games in 2013 as the Bulldogs' primary faceoff specialist, taking 434 of the team's 437 total faceoffs ... Went 315-for-434 at the X to post the nation's best faceoff winning percentage at .726 ... Also led the nation in ground balls (231) and ground balls per game, scooping up 12.16 each time out ... Set NCAA single-season records for total ground balls (231), ground balls per game (12.16) and faceoffs won (315) as a sophomore ... Went 50 percent or better on the faceoff in all 19 contests ... Massa racked up a multitude of postseason accolades in 2012, including selections to the All-NEC First Team, the All-NEC Rookie Team, the NEC All-Tournament Team and the NEILA All-New England Second Team ... Took all but nine of the team's 411 faceoffs on the year, going 257-of-402 for a league-leading .639 faceoff winning percentage ... That mark was tops among all Division I rookies and ranked third overall on the national circuit ... Before Bryant: A 2011 graduate of Elwood John Glenn High School, Massa was a three-year varsity letterwinner and starter for the Knights ... Named a 2011 all-county selection ... Led team to Class C Suffolk County Championship in 2010 ... Received the school's most outstanding athlete award senior year ... Also earned three varsity letters in wrestling and two in football ... Named to the all-county team in football as a senior and in wrestling as a junior and senior ... Member of the 2010 all-state wrestling championship team.
